Green Glue is a revolutionary sound proofing material which is very popular amongst acoustic industry professionals as well as DIY sound-proofers. It works well as part of any standard stud wall and can be added to existing walls, floors and ceilings along with additional layers of plasterboard. It effectively doubles the performance of your plasterboard and is particularly effective at low frequencies.
When sandwiched between 2 sheets of plasterboard the noise reduction through a wall is improved dramatically. It works by damping vibration which enters the wall, reducing the amount of sound energy which gets through to the other side.

How much do I need to buy?
This price is for a single tube. You can use a minimum of 1 tube and a maximum of 3 tubes per standard 8′ x 4′ (2.4M x 1.2M) sheet of plasterboard. For most applications 2 tubes per 8′ x 4′ sheet are recommended. Use our handy Green Glue calculator to work out exactly how much you’ll need.
We offer an even lower price on full boxes of 12 tubes or more. Don’t forget you’ll also need a US (quart) size applicator gun from us.

Resilient Bar (Res Bar) is a popular product for increasing sound isolation in walls and ceilings.

It works by decoupling the existing wall from additional layers of plasterboard. Resilient Bar should be mounted onto timber joists or battens which have been infilled with Rockwool RWA45 insulation.

On walls, Resilient Bars should be placed onto the studwork / battens horizontally – 1 Res Bar every 600mm. On ceilings they should be placed every 450mm at 90 degrees to the ceiling joists. The product can be cut easily with tin snips.

Fix your plasterboard to the Resilient Bar with plasterboard screws every 230mm. Leave a 5mm gap around the perimeter of your new wall / ceiling layer to reduce flanking vibration. This gap must be sealed with a flexible acoustic sealant.
Your screws must only penetrate the Resilient Bar and MUST NOT come into contact with the studwork / joists as this will ‘short circuit’ the decoupling effect that Res Bar provides.

The Spectrum Studio Gobo is a moveable acoustic screen which is ideally suited to studio and location recording.

The steel frame is designed to hold up to 2 Spectrum Studio XL Tiles.

You can use a single 25mm if the unit will have its back to a wall and 25mm provides sufficient sound absorption for your needs. Contact us if you need help deciding.

With 2 XL tiles fitted the gobo becomes a double sided absorber with the option of inserting a 12mm sheet of ply wood or MDF (not included) for additional sound isolation.

If you need a bass trap configuration you will need a custom XL tile with a bass membrane to be manufactured. This is not expensive but we don’t hold them in stock. Contact us for a portable bass trap price.

The Gobo has 2 sets of feet making it suitable for a wide range of isolation and absorption scenarios. Use the 50mm low level feet when you want to control drums or guitar amps and use the tall feet when working with singers or brass players. You can use the included linking bars to join multiple Gobos together in more permanent set ups.

The standard finish for the steel frame is a hard wearing ‘crackle’ powder coat in black.

The standard Gobo size is:
725mm x 70mm and 1550mm high with the 50mm feet or 1900mm with the larger 400mm feet. Both sets of feet are included in the package.
